The shoe doesn't fit...

As May comes to an end, I'm getting excited for June. Summer finally is somewhat here. I'm so blessed, not by what I have, but what I own in my heart. A peace that only Jesus can give. I'm ever so thankful for the gift of Jesus. I pray that as a church we prepare ourselves for His home coming. The bride awaits her wonderful King!

As I wait, I also understand that we as the church are the filth of this world. The world doesn't love us, nor want us around. As much as the church use to be a thorn in the side of this world, we seem to be living like this lost world everyday. May we Christians lean on the strength of God, His mighty wisdom, and be able to somehow push through and press on for His glory which all belongs to God and God alone.

How can it be that we would be able to fit in this world? Do you see where I'm coming from? Fan into flame. As I listen to the song "The wonderful cross" I understand what I'm here for. Helping to build a case against the wicked man of this world, or are we just building a case against ourselves? Look outside and you can stand in amazement at God's glory that is displayed to the world we live in. That is why we are without excuse.

One day we all will stand judgment before the seat of Christ, are you preparing for that meeting? Are the preachers of today ready for the double shot of pain that comes with teaching others? Preaching is a gift, not some 40 hour a week job.

I have nothing to worry about, nothing to fear. God is in control of everything! I put my trust into the Son for salvation, for my ticket to heaven.

I end with a great verse for the Church. May your heart find joy in it, as I have. Keep pressing, keep praying, and keep waiting for the Lord and His new heaven. The shoe that will fit perfectly!

More Than Conquerors

Romans 8:28-39
28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,[a] who[b] have been called according to his purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? 36As it is written:
"For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered."[c] 37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[d] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

A visit with the in-laws....

After the night at the Salish on our way home we stopped over at Rashelle's Grandparents for a little birthday cake/pie. The visit was short, but the goodies sweet. Got to love your in-laws...

A must read for all Christians! Much prayer and revival is needed in the dead of the Church today! Preaching affects time; prayer affects eternity. Why no passion in the Church of today? We have to many unbelieving believers in the prodigal Church in a prodigal world! Wake up church, lets get to work. Keep pressing, keep praying!

I need to work harder on my prayer life! After this read I see that I lack so much, when I thought I had so much. I want more time with just me and God! May God forgive me in the little time I spend in prayer with Him. Overall a very encouraging book! If your looking for that fan into flame book, then this is it!

The Wise & Foolish Builders

Matthew 7:24-27

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash."

Scripture talks of two kinds of Christians. One that is wise, while the other is foolish. It's clear that the two kinds of Christians both serve to advance God's kingdom, whether that be in pastoral or ministry work, both even read there Bible and pray often. Through conversations you would also find that both would acknowledge that they are the wise builder. Also, it would be fair to say that anyone in the presence of man can talk and look wise (the Pharisees did great at that), but a good part of the wise Christian builds his house in the presence of God when no man is around. Their walk matches their talk, even behind close doors.

I desire to be a wise builder, and hopefully that is your desire. The wise Christian builds a strong house, and what follows, is a strong family, strong faith, a strong Christian life that will always be pointing to the cross! The wise Christian will handle the storms of life understanding that God is in control, the foolish will be broken and felt deserted by God, just the opposite of the wise.

Eternity Over Yonder

It's becoming more and more clear that the Christian church is living in ways that makes God cry (if He could). But we seem to just live in sin thinking God will forgive, and also forgive the sins we commit in the near future. So many believer's, but so little change! God forgive us for thinking this way! What has happened to being transformed by the power of the Gospel? People are being saved, but still living like this world?

The Church is in a desperate state! The church of today needs a Revival! That she would be transformed for the Power of the Holy Spirit. That we would draw our hearts to God and not satan! Pray before we play with this world. Call me a radical, but the church needs to be real and not fake. Do we really care about the lost? When was the last time you shared the Gospel with someone?

I've been reading this book titled "Why Revival Tarries". This book was written way before I came to be, but seems to still ring true in our modern world today. God forgive us for not living Spirit filled lives. Christan's today care about as much for the lost soul, as the lost themselves care about themselves. Everyday people are being tossed into eternal hell and you would think no one cares, not even God's household. Sad, but true.

Maybe it's time to live life as if Jesus was standing next to you every step of our days! Maybe then we would think twice about the shows we watch on TV, the movies we rent, the nasty things that come from our hearts and flow out of the mouth. Maybe then we would fear God and obey His Word? If your faith has not changed you, then it would be fair to say it's not going to save you. It's like the quote "what would Jesus do", and I'm sure it's not what we as the Church are doing today.

In the book Harnack defined Christianity as "a very simple but very sublime thing: To live in time and for eternity under the eye of God and by His help."

Ravenhill continues by saying "Oh that believers would become eternity-conscious! If we could live every moment of every day under the eye of God, if we did every act in the light of the judgment seat, if we sold every article in the light of the judgment seat, if we prayed every prayer in the light of the judgment seat, if we tithed all our possessions in the light of the judgment seat, if we preachers prepared every sermon with one eye on damned humanity and the other on the judgment seat - then we would have a Holy Ghost revival that would shake this earth and that, in no time at all, would liberate millions of precious souls."

We have millions of Bibles, scores of thousands of churches, endless preachers - and yet what sin! It is passing strange that we are so "simple" as to believe that the Church is presenting to men the New Testament standard of Jesus by such a substandard of Christian living.

Why does revival tarry? The answer is simple enough - because evangelism is so highly commercialized.

Revival tarries because of cheapening the Gospel.

Keep pressing, Keep praying, Keep doing church in the shadow of the Cross!

Maybe it's time to turn our eyes to Jesus. Christ wants first place in our lives and He rightly deserves it! I think once we live with eternal things in mind, it will change the way we think and also live. Are you ready for the judgment seat of Christ if death were to come over you today? Are you ready to meet Him?

Have a great week. Thanks for stopping by.

Playing dress up with God...

As I grow in my knowledge of God, I come to understand the difference between man and God. I believe that is very important, that we have a proper view of God. I look at it like this, take all the sand in the world and grab a hand full of sand, that is what we are able to understand of God on this side of heaven. The rest of the sand still represents knowledge of God, and even when I do make it to heaven I don't think I'll ever fully understand God's mighty power, strength nor wisdom. My understanding is not able to comprehend God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than man's wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man's strength.

I'm amazed of how people simply play dress up with God. Why would God allow this to happen? If God was love why would he let my grandpa die of cancer? When tough circumstances arise in your life, do you start to prefer the God that lives in your box? Right now as your reading this what is your current view of God?

To many people, including Christians put God in a box. Even a short time ago I myself had God in a little box, but then something great started to happen. God started placing His Word into my heart! I started to grow in the knowledge of God! I would say that God commands us to grow in knowledge of Him. Just do a Biblical word search on knowledge and you will see.

Three things that will benefit every growing christian.

1. Study the attributes of God

2. Study the doctrines of grace

3. Study the doctrines of sin

We as Christians are called to be imitators of God, and in Galatians 5 we also see a list of the characteristics of a Spirit filled life. We are very limited on how much we are able to imitate God. There is a huge difference between us and God. Remember God is BIG, we are small. Let's start to fear God and not man!

God is all mighty
All glory, all honor, all wisdom, strength and power are yours alone forever!
We lift your name high!

Keep pressing, keep praying, keep growing in your knowledge of God!

Why Preach the Word? Here is an article that came across in my email. John MacArthur gives 7 thoughts of why preaching the Word is what should happen in big church. Enjoy and keep pressing!

Why preach God's Word?

Just finished the book Humility True Greatness by C.J. Mahaney.

Great book and I highly recommend this book to those that desire holiness! C.J. gives a great biblical view of humility, something that every Christian can learn on.

C.J. notes "that ultimately our Christian service exists only to draw attention to this source -- to our crucified and risen Lord who gave Himself as a ransom for us all." Amen to that!

Keep pressing 4 His glory!

Christ is like caffeine to the morning soul....

Been reading the book Humility True Greatness by C.J. Mahaney. Powerful and recommended read, full of wisdom nuggets that will last till the end of your time. C.J. gives a list that I wanted to share of ways that you can start your day off right for God. How do you start your day off? What would be on your list?

- Reflect on the wonder of the cross of Christ

- Begin your day by acknowledging your dependence upon God and your need for God

- Begin your day expressing gratefulness to God

- Practice the spiritual disciplines (prayer, study of God's Word, worship)

- Seize your commute time to memorize and meditate on scripture

- Cast your cares upon Him

Keep pressing, Keep praying, Keep God in mind when you start your day!

You are Loved!

The sleeping giant

This past service at church was on Mother's day, but was also the international day of prayer. Pastor Chris had talked about how the persecuted church has been praying for the American church. He called it the sleeping giant.

Most people don't realize how people everyday are dying for the name of Jesus Christ. The powers of this world are trying hard to stop the advancing of God's kingdom. God is always at work, even when it seems the hope has gone away. But during the prayer the song "while you were sleeping" from casting crowns came to mind. It's a song about a country with no room for it's King.

I have a passion for revival in the American church, that the sleeping giant would one day wake up. With all the chaos that is going on in the world, people need to hear the good news of Jesus Christ.

When I read in Romans about the birth pains of this world, and looking and seeing what is going on, sometimes you just have to wonder, we could be in the last days of this world. Praise the Lord for that, I'm ready for Christ to return before your done reading this post.

Below I've posted the lyrics of the song "while you were sleeping". It's time to wake up sleeping church! It's time to press on for God's agenda! We need to work hard to do the work of the Lord until His return. Keep pressing, keep praying, keep preaching the cross to this lost world. That's what I'm going to do.

WHILE YOU WERE SLEEPING

Oh little town of Jerusalem
Looks like another silent night
The Father gave His only Son
The Way, the Truth, the Life had come
But there was no room for Him in the world He came to save

Jerusalem, what you have missed while you were sleeping
The Savior of the world is dying on your cross today
Jerusalem, you will go down in history
As a city with no room for its King
While you were sleeping
While you were sleeping

United States of America
Looks like another silent night
As we're sung to sleep by philosophies
That save the trees and kill the children
And while we're lying in the dark
There's a shout heard 'cross the eastern sky
For the Bridegroom has returned
And has carried His bride away in the night, in the night

America, what will we miss while we are sleeping
Will Jesus come again
And leave us slumbering where we lay
America, will we go down in history
As a nation with no room for its King
Will we be sleeping
Will we be sleeping

United States of America
Looks like another silent night

5 things dangerous to a Christian soul

1. Not forgiving others the way God has forgiven us.

Matthew 6:15
But if you do not forgive men their sins,
your Father will not forgive your sins.

Ephesians 4:32
Be kind and compassionate to one another,
forgiving each other, just as in Christ
God forgave you.

2. Pride / Self-Glorification

Proverbs 11:2
When pride comes, then comes disgrace,
but with humility comes wisdom.

Proverbs 16:5
The Lord detests all the proud of heart.
Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.

3. Not living holy

Romans 12:1
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy,
to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and
pleasing to God -- this is your spiritual act of worship.

Colossians 1:10
And we pray this in order that you may live a life
worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way:
bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the
knowledge of God

Colossians 3:5-10
Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your
earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust,
evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. Because
of these, the wrath of God is coming. You used to
walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. But
now you must rid yourselves of all such things as
these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy
language from your lips. Do not lie to each other,
since you have taken off your old self with its
practices and have put on the new self, which is
being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

1 Peter 1:16
for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."

4. Not growing in spiritual maturity

Hebrews 5:13
Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is
not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness.

1 Peter 2:2
Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that
by it you may grow up in your salvation

Ephesians 4:14-16
Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and
forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every
wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of
men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking
the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into
him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the
whole body, joined and held together by every supporting
ligament, grows and builds itself up in love,
as each part does its work.

5. Not honoring your father & mother

Deuteronomy 5:16
"Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your
God has commanded you, so that you may live long and
that it may go well with you in the land the LORD
your God is giving you.

Mark 7:10
For Moses said, 'Honor your father and your mother,
' and, 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must
be put to death.'

Ephesians 6:2
"Honor your father and mother"—which is the first
commandment with a promise—

The every person heart problem

As most of you know my brother had open heart surgery recently. Praise the Lord that everything went good and his recovery seems to be going great! Through this experience I have drawn closer to God then ever before. And that is what God wants, for us to allow Him to guide us through our storms. God's comfort is a peace that I can't describe, but I tell you there is nothing like it in this world.

The condition that my brother had could be fixed by any modern day heart surgeon, but the truth is we all need heart surgery. A heart problem that only God can fix and do His work within us. It starts by repenting of the sin that consumes us. Turning from sin and embracing Christ and knowing that salvation is only through Christ(Acts 4:12). It starts by realizing that we need a savior to save us! Only God is mighty to save. That is why God gave us the free gift of Jesus. Nothing that our works can earn (Ephesians 2:8-9), but receive by submitting our hearts and lives over to Christ. Putting our trust and faith in Him. True saving faith will always respond in obedience (Ephesians 2:10).

What is your view of God? Would you humble yourself in the presence of God and allow him to fix your heart? I pray that you would get with God, ask Him to show you your heart. God wants to fix your heart, go, get on your knees and make that appointment with God.

There is no point to this life without Jesus! A life without Jesus leads to death. Proverbs 16:25 says "There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death". Pick up a Bible and read it. Come to understand who God is, not from our human perspective, but from a Biblical perspective.

1 John 2:6 says "Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did."

Jesus demands that we live above the world standard! Most of what we gain here on earth will be lost when this life ends. We are only passing through, our true home is either with God in heaven, or in hell outside of the presence of God. The path to God in heaven goes through Jesus Christ (John 14:6).

Following Christ isn't simply a decision, it's a surrender.

Have a Blessed weekend! Press on as you pursue God! You are loved!
